a cottage co-housing community
Evans Oaks is an intentional community of private homes clustered around shared space. Each single family home has traditional amenities, including a private kitchen and small yard area. Our shared spaces will feature a common house, which includes a large kitchen, dining area, recreational spaces, and guest quarters.
We will also have a workshop and garages with personal storage at both ends of the property. Shared outdoor space includes parking, walkways, open space, and gardens. Community members also share resources like tools, books, and recreational equipment. Each household lives independently, but neighbors collaboratively plan and manage community activities and shared spaces.
We have filled all the houses in our community. Our last house was recently spoken for, and the community is very happy to have all our neighbors together.
The site improvement is completed and the house construction began in November of 2019 with completion planned in fall of 2020. See progress of our building in the blog. Our members have funded the purchase of the land and also paid for the planning, architectural work, surveying and establishment of the LLC (Limited Liability Company) that will be the developer of the project.
