Site Plan

Our site plan: We will build eleven cottages (800-1500 square feet), a common house for get-togethers and guest space, a shared workshop, and two banks of garages. We have purchased a 1.4 acre property within the city limits that is ideal for the arrangement of our homes and other structures. The land is located in a very desirable residential neighborhood on the “east hill” section of Silverton, within a mile of the historic downtown.


Buttercup Cottage

The 762 square foot Buttercup is the smallest cottage in Evans Oaks. This is a two bedroom home is designed with space for two in mind. High ceilings will give you a greater sense of space. This is an open kitchen great room design which still provides privacy in the bedrooms.

Trillium Cottage

At 980 square feet this one bedroom home is designed with the perfect office space for two. The office could also double as a spare sleeping space or TV room. In the office is a steep ships ladder that provides easy access to the windowed storage loft. Notice the offset roof line that allows for high operable clerestory windows for excellent ventilation. The private side yard is accessed through a door off the living room. In addition to the full bath, there is a half bath that shares space with the utility room. Imagine cooking in the open kitchen while friends or family hang out at the dining bar and others share in the conversation from the living room. This house will live large and invite lots of interaction.

Sunflower Cottage

Our largest home at 1443 square feet actually has the smallest footprint of the designs. This two story, two bedroom home has two full bathrooms and will provide plenty of space for a small family to be comfortable. The upstairs has an open flex area for a spacious feel. The operable clerestory windows in the vaulted ceiling will add light and convective cooling. With one bedroom upstairs and one down, there is the ability to age in place. This home has a front porch and a rear mudroom entrance as well as a side door to the private side yard. With a dining bar in the kitchen and a separate dining area, there is plenty of space for entertaining and family meals. The covered patio provides space for outdoor use even in our wet Oregon winters.

The HUB

Our shared activity building, “the Hub,” will be located on the east side of the site, and include a large gathering room, a residential type kitchen, a library area, a large verandah facing the meandering walkway, and a terrace nestled under the upper oak grove. Our intent is that the shared building be a center of activity for our community.

Parking Garages

We plan to have parking and garages at both the southwest and northeast corners of the property so that all cottages will have convenient access to their assigned garage space and extra parking spaces. Each garage will also include a personal storage area.
